Gathering Resources, Including a Wand

Sighing, I stepped through the cobbled streets of Diagol Alley. Having been placed into Slytherin and sorted into my house, I knew I was missing something.
My wand.
Running my hands down my face, she wondered how she ended up in Slytherin. It probably wasn't an easy choice for the hat to make however, as she had many redeeming qualities. Mabye it was the part about me being lazy?
Chuckling slightly to myself, I took a left turn, walking into the doors of Ollivanders and pushing my hands against it.
"Welcome!" He cried out as I brushed away a cobweb that hung above the doorframe from my face. "Can I interest you in a wand?"
"Of course." I replied, closing the door gently behind me with a thud. I stepped quickly over to the counter, my golden hair flowing slightly in the breeze of my movements.
"Let me just measure your arm..." Ollivander eagerly picked up a tape measure from his dusty desk and pulled it taught next to my right arm which I pointed toward him over the counter.
"On, I know just the thing!" Ollivander exclaimed, sticking up a finger in triumph, placing the tape back on his desk. He vanished in the depths of the back of his store, among the many boxes of wands and... I didn't want to know.

Yawning after what seemed like ten minutes, I leant against the desk. However, my boredom was short-lived as Ollivander quickly came scuttling up the dark coridoor, holding a box. He quickly placed this box on the counter and slid it over to me.
Opening it gently, I was quite surprised to see a red-tinted wand.
"Ash?" I asked, looking up at the Wand-Maker.
"Yes, ash with Phoenix feather!" He exclaimed. My mouth dropped open. Why did these two materials seems such a good combination?
Gently taking the wand out of the box with my right arm - I had chosen it to be my wand-arm - the wand seemed to shake slightly in my grip, as if it was scared. I looked bewildered at this but quickly remembered the wand chooses the wizard. Was it testing me?
"How will I know if its chosen me?" I asked.
"Give it a flick." Ollivander smiled, cautiously stepping back slightly.
Putting the wand in a comfortable position in my hand, I gave my wrick a small flick, sending this vibration down to my wand - white light filled the air around it and surrounded me in a misty smoke. The mist seemed to be made from light. It was as if it was attempting to reach into the dark recesses of Ollivanders' and pull me out...
Quickly opening and closing my eyes, the spell, whatever it was, had gone.

"I'll take it. I quickly reached into my trouser pockets (I was not wearing my school robes yet) and fished out a Galleon to pay for this extremely high quality 12 inch Ash with Phoenix Feather wand.
